VTS (Dentistry) Candidate 2-Day Workshop

The VTS (Dentistry) Candidate 2-Day Workshop is for AVDT Candidates.

Day 1 topics will include local/regional anesthesia, endodontic, prosthodontics, and radiology techniques. Cadaver specimens will be used for each participant to practice regional block techniques, area-specific crown impressions, full mouth impressions, endodontic assistant techniques and full mouth canine and feline dental radiographs.

Day 2 topics will include the 12-step Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment and Treatment (COHAT) procedure, dental charting and the instrumentation used. A periodontology section will discuss basic periodontal concepts, performing closed root planing and application of perioceutics. Each participant will receive a periodontal instrument kit.

This 2-day workshop will include a total of 14 wet lab hours that meet the AVDT credential application requirements. The course will be taught by AVDC diplomates and AVDT VTS technicians. Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day.
